Getting Started

Tickets

you will get assigned 4 tickets:

  1. create shell for RN
  2. create dummy RN file
  3. review known issues and bug fixes
  4. update and assemble cnv release notes
RN Shell
  • Update release notes file name and anchor IDs
  • Remove notes under New and changed features but leave headers
  • Remove Bug fixes content
  • Remove Removed features content

for the sake of clarity, the guide below is based off of going from 4.16 to 4.17

  1. checkout the branch for the new release you're working on
  2. create a feature branch (CNV-34645-4-16-RN-shell)
  3. rename file to new version and replace old version strings with new ones
git mv virt/release_notes/virt-4-16-release-notes.adoc virt/release_notes/virt-4-17-release-notes.adoc
sed -i 's/virt-4-16/virt-4-17/g' virt/release_notes/virt-4-17-release-notes.adoc
sed -i 's/virt-4-16-release-notes/virt-4-17-release-notes/g' _topic_maps/_topic_map.yml
  1. Remove the old New and changed features release notes (keep the component subheadings, such as Installation, Storage, etc.). Do not remove anything in the Known issues section yet
